Oxford Analytics Research Overview 2025-26
Oxford Analytics is committed to advancing educational insights through rigorous research. For 2025-26, we are focusing on three key research areas, with all outputs freely available to sixth forms in England. Below is an overview of our initiatives:
1. Mapping Sixth Form Excellence: Mapping Excellence – Oxford Analytics.org
This comprehensive research project evaluates student progress at the subject level in sixth forms across England. Our findings are presented through four interactive analyses, accessible at Mapping Excellence – Oxford Analytics:
- Top-Ranked Sixth Form for Academic Student Progress by Subject: Identifying the leading institution in England for academic progress in each subject.
- Top-Ranked Sixth Form for Vocational/Technical Student Progress by Subject: Highlighting the top performer in vocational and technical subjects.
- Top 25 Sixth Forms for Academic Student Progress by Subject: Showcasing the top 25 institutions for academic progress.
- Top 25 Sixth Forms for Vocational/Technical Student Progress by Subject: Recognising the top 25 institutions for vocational/technical progress.
2. Final Summary Reports on 2024 Results
We provide detailed reports summarising the outcomes for all sixth forms included in the Department for Education’s (DfE) 16-18 Performance Tables. These reports are available at no cost to sixth forms in England. Schools must register on our portal to access and download their report. No subscription to Oxford Analytics services is required. Access the reports at Oxford Analytics Portal: https://secure.a4i.org.uk/Register.aspx
Level 3 Grade Outcomes Analysis
Oxford Analytics analyses the distribution of grade outcomes for Level 3 courses using national datasets. These are intended to assist with target setting or comparisons between a centre’s results and national outcomes. Up to three course outcomes can be requested free of charge by any centre. The latest dataset is from 2020 data releases.
3. Sixth Form Funding Trend Analysis
Using data from published DfE sixth form funding allocations, we offer an aggregated five-year funding trend analysis. This resource helps schools identify patterns and potential discrepancies in their historical sixth form Census data. Reports are freely available, with portal registration required for access and download. No subscription to Oxford Analytics services is needed. Access the funding trend data at Oxford Analytics Portal: https://secure.a4i.org.uk/Register.aspx
